The Immunization Encounter: Critical Issues

A National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease Webcast

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are sponsoring a free
webcast on Thursday, December 18, 2008, from 12:00 - 2:00pm Eastern
Time.

This program will address issues related to the routine immunization
clinic encounter in the context of recommended standards of practice for
patient intake and screening.  Topics will include patient and parent
communication and education, vaccine storage and handling, preparing for
medical emergencies, screening for contraindications and precautions to
vaccination, vaccine administration, records and documentation, the
Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) and the Vaccine Injury
Compensation Program.
