[Clinicians] CHAMPS Spanish Language Intensive Training September

Hello,

The next CHAMPS Spanish Language for Health Professional training will
be held on September 25-27, 2008.  The deadline for registration has
been extended to September 12, 2008.  Below is more information about
this training:

Dates and Times:  Thursday-Saturday, September 25-27, 2008, 8:00 a.m. -
5:00 p.m. each day

Course Description: This three-day course targeted for physicians,
nurses, PAs, NPs, medical assistants, dentists, pharmacists, and other
medical personnel is an intensive, individually tailored, conversational
and medical Spanish workshop consisting of medical dialogues,
role-plays, many colorful visual aids, cross-cultural discussions,
"edutainment", daily practice, and evening study with work-books and
tapes (additional fee, optional).  The course curriculum provides an
experience of immersion learning, an approach that has repeatedly proven
to be extremely suitable for those with limited time, and who must use
their new language skills immediately with their Spanish-speaking
patients about feelings, attitudes and culture.  Participants will be
divided into sub-groups in accordance with their Spanish language
skills.  Each group will receive instruction with a professional trainer
from Rios and Associates, leaders in medical Spanish language education.

Course Fees: The registration fee is $450 for CHAMPS Members and $600
for CHAMPS Non-Members.  The registration fee includes three full days
of Spanish language instruction, course book, CME (pending approval),
continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack each day.   

Location and Lodging: The training courses and lodging will be located
at the Sheraton Denver West at 360 Union Boulevard, Lakewood, CO 80228,
720-963-2025 or toll free 800-525-3966.  The hotel is offering a block
of rooms at the rate of $119 per night (plus room tax and $10 per day
per additional person over double occupancy), but this rate is subject
to availability.  Local participants do not need to stay in the hotel in
order to attend the training.

CME: Continuing medical education (CME) credit has been applied for and
is pending approval.  In the past, this three-day course was accredited
for 24 credit hours.
